About the Channel Islands:
The Channel Islands are a chain of islands off the California coast that are so unique they are a National Park. These islands create a diverse marine environment that is quintessentially California diving! Visibility is commonly over 50’ and you can expect to see marine life like horn sharks, pacific electric rays, nudibranchs, jellies and more.
About the group:
At Aquatic Discovery Scuba Center we’re known for relaxed, no attitude, fun diving. Since this trip is the week before lobster season the boat will be filled with divers looking for cool critters, epic dive sites and great photography. About half the divers will be new to live aboard diving and many will be shooting cameras ranging from disposable film cameras to digital SLR’s. If you’ve always wanted to try live aboard diving but couldn’t find a chill, comfortable group this is the trip to jump on!
About the trip:
We love these live aboard dive trips because unlike a typical 2 or 3-tank one day charter there’s no hurrying to wake-up early, be ready to get in the water when the rest of the group is and hustle your gear around. You can sleep in, do a few relaxed dives and catch-up on naps. Or, if you’re like Jeremy, you can spend more time underwater then you do sleeping!
We planned this trip to happen right before the start of lobster season because, as non-hunters, we don’t enjoy doing 40’ dives up against the shallows where it’s murky and surgy. While it’s great country for finding lobsters it doesn’t represent the vast variety of diving the Channel Islands offers.
